ABOUT ME

Originally from the island of Guam, I moved to Chicago in 1991 to pursue my career in Education.  I graduated from the University of Illinois– Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Governor State University with a Masters in Educational Administration.   I recently graduated with a Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration from Loyola University Chicago in May 2019.   I am also a National Board Certified Teacher.  I am proud to be selected in a national fellowship with The Cahn Fellows Program for Distinguished Principals, hosted by Columbia University's Teacher College and The Fund Chicago for the 2019-20 school year.

I am happily married to Ronan for eighteen years.  We have two beautiful daughters, Sophia who is in the 11th grade and Emma who is in the 8th grade.  My family is the love of my life!  I would not be here today without them.

On my spare time, I love to spend time with family and friends.  We enjoy making meals and laughing as we reminisce past times.   I also love to run by the lake as it brings me comfort and joy to be living in such a beautiful city and appreciate what I have.

MY MISSION

I am a highly skilled and talented educational leader with 24 years of experience in the Chicago Public Schools. I firmly believe that all students can succeed with the collaboration and support of their parents, community, teachers, and administration.  My mission is to advocate for all students so that they have access to high quality instruction and are empowered to lead successful lives.  I hope to instill my leadership values unto others so that they can be inspired to do the same.
